Thoroughbred's Version 8.8.2 new File Level security can protect your data files while at rest. This gets you one step closer to GDPR compliance. Using AES 256-bit encryption, once your data is encrypted it can only be displayed in a readable form by the Basic license that created the file. Your data will be unintelligible when accessed on any other system including other Thoroughbred-based systems.

All encryption is completed using standard OpenSSL® libraries with virtually no performance overhead. Once your file is created as encrypted, everything else is done in memory. Even though GDPR is primarily for the European Union, any domestic (or Far East) application such as medical, financial, sales and marketing lists, etc. can benefit from Thoroughbred's Version 8.8.2 file encryption.
